Besharam (2025), directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap, is a Bollywood action-comedy featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Babli, a charming yet reckless car thief who supports his orphanage by stealing luxury vehicles. His life takes a turn when he steals a car belonging to Tara Sharma (Pallavi Sharda), a wealthy woman. To win her back, Babli embarks on a mission to retrieve the car from the clutches of the villainous Bheem Singh Chandel (Javed Jaffrey) in Chandigarh. Along the way, he faces challenges from his own parents, Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, who play a quirky cop couple, Chulbul and Bulbul Chautala.
Despite its star-studded cast and attempts at humor, Besharam falters due to a weak script and lackluster direction. The film’s reliance on overused tropes and forced humor detracts from its potential. While Ranbir Kapoor’s performance adds some charm, the overall execution leaves much to be desired. The film’s attempt to blend action, comedy, and romance falls short, making it a forgettable entry in Bollywood’s action-comedy genre.
