Pallu Padama Paathuka (2023) is a Tamil-language zombie comedy directed by Vijay Varadharaj. The film follows five individuals who, while attempting to commit suicide in the Kunju Thanni Forest, encounter a zombie outbreak. They are rescued by Sathya, a scientist with a personal vendetta against the undead, stemming from her father’s failed experiment, “Project Cthulhu,” which inadvertently caused the zombie apocalypse. As the group battles zombies, they confront bizarre situations, including a zombie version of Hitler, blending horror with satirical humor.
Despite its unique premise, the film received predominantly negative reviews. Critics highlighted its weak plot, reliance on adult humor, and offensive dialogues. The Times of India rated it 1.5 out of 5, noting the film’s failure to deliver effective scares or laughs. Similarly, The New Indian Express criticized its ineffective humor and lack of coherent storytelling. While Sanchita Shetty’s performance as Sathya was acknowledged, the film’s overall execution was deemed disappointing. With an IMDb rating of 2.9/10, Pallu Padama Paathuka stands as an ambitious yet flawed attempt at blending zombie horror with adult comedy.
